Tyler Sullivan Summer 2018 Blog

My second-to-last quarter at Kendall has been full of challenging and outstanding courses. From learning how to temper chocolate to making an extravagant sugar showpiece, my classes have been nothing short of amazing. Chocolates, wedding cakes, and sugars (Oh, my) have been some of my favorite classes during my time here because of the levels of creativity needed on a daily basis that was sometimes challenging to come by, but worth it in the end.
On top of my amazing classes, I also had to start looking for an internship. I have always been a huge fan of Disney, so when I heard that there were going to be interviewing for culinary and baking and pastry internships, I signed up almost immediately. Not long after the interview, I received an email from Disney entitled “Congratulations, Tyler!”. I am so excited to be able to spend my internship in my favorite place in the world while doing what I love.
After my internship at Disney, I plan on moving back to Chicago to work with special needs children and work on developing classes to teach basic cooking elements and, most importantly, safety in the kitchen. Being in the kitchens every day makes me feel confident and happy, and I want nothing more than to share that feeling with others.
