About Us
OUR MISSION
Foundation for Culinary Arts inspires and empowers socially and economically disadvantaged students through educational programming and career advancement opportunities in the culinary industry.
Expanding worlds by expanding palates
CULINARY CAMPS Fresh pasta-making, baking 101, knife skills, plating and presentation… F4CA’s Yes, Chef! Culinary Camps provide hands-on culinary and nutrition instruction while preparing students for future culinary-related education and employment opportunities. But they are so much more than a day in the kitchen. Designed to broaden campers’ horizons in regards to the culinary world as well as different cultures and communities, campers get to spend time bonding with students from other schools while learning portable life skills, including lessons on healthy eating and sustainable foodways.
Higher education and whole family foodways are always top of mind at F4CA, which is why each and every one of our Yes, Chef! Culinary Camp students receive a Cooking Kit when they complete the program to take home with them. Each kit is filled with essential cooking tools that enable our students to continue practicing their newfound skills at home, provide healthy meals for their extended families, and spread their knowledge within their immediate communities.
MENTOR PROGRAM We believe that, beyond financial opportunity, the best resource for an emerging culinary or hospitality professional is a dedicated mentor. We pair our students with pros from the industry who will guide them on the path toward making their culinary dreams a reality.
SCHOLARSHIPS F4CA provides scholarship opportunities that support the career development and educational advancement of economically disadvantaged students. Since 2008, F4CA has awarded over $3 million in donor-supported scholarship funds to more than 1,000 students. Currently, The Raymond Geraldson, Jr. Scholarship is provided annually to one culinary camper going to college.
