About The Scholarship Program

The Foundation for Culinary Arts (F4CA), has provided scholarship opportunities and resources that support the career development and educational advancement of economically disadvantaged students. Since 2008, F4CA has awarded nearly $3 million in donor-supported scholarship funds to more than 500 students.

Currently, The Ray Geraldson, Jr. Scholarship is provided annually to one culinary camper going to college. Ray Geraldson led an esteemed career as an Intellectual Property attorney and served on the Kendall College Trust board for more than a decade. This scholarship was created to support promising culinary and hospitality students in the Chicagoland area.

Through the support of donors, F4CA continues to assist devoted students in their pursuit of knowledge. Here is some of what recipients had to say about the impact their scholarships made on their lives:

“I am the first in my family to be attending college…I have always been passionate about becoming a pastry chef. It has been my dream to be the owner of my own bakery…This scholarship will help cover my tuition and allow me to focus more on my studies, which I am extremely grateful for.” Emilee Bruno, Raymond Geraldson Jr. Scholarship Recipient, 2024-2025

“Obtaining this opportunity has been a blessing under my ancestors, this is a blessing of a scholarship that is dedicated to believing and guiding students to achieve their goals which is what I hope to accomplish and gain with this scholarship, to give back to my community as you have given to me! ” Josue Cervantes, Raymond Geraldson Jr. Scholarship Recipient, 2023-2024

“I once read that when writers try to describe music, words often fail them. Notes it seems are greater than syllables. Your generosity and grace in honouring me with a scholarship leave me similarly, unable to convey how much this means to me.  I pray only that my efforts and my exertions pay it forward, in action, in spice, seasoning and flambe.”  Khadija Bano Malik, Culinary Arts Scholarship Recipient, 2020-2021

“I am truly grateful for the scholarship committee, for not only assisting me financially but also by being an encouragement through my time at Kendall College.” Abigail Urbano, Scholarship Recipient 2018-2019

“The scholarship has done much more than allowing me to extend my studies, to develop my capabilities, to grow personally and academically. It has been slowly and subtly helping me define my career pathway.” Raissa Silva Correa, Scholarship Recipient 2016-2017
