Being able to represent Kendall is something that is extremely important to me. There are many ways I can do that. One is being a Kendall College Trust recipient as well as a pastry alumni. I am also a part of the Eta Sigma Delta honor’s society. On March 20^th, myself and a few other Eta Sigma Delta members volunteered at the Housewares Charity Gala at Navy Pier. This was the 20^th anniversary of this event.

The Housewares Charity foundation teamed up with James Beard chefs including Rick Bayless and Lee Wolen to raise money for breast cancer research and No Kid Hungry. The most enjoyable part during the evening, other than trying all the chefs’ dishes, was being a spotter during the live auction. Some of the prizes went for $25,000. It was very exciting to watch the amount get higher and have it all go to charity. It was such a great time to be able to represent Kendall and raise money for these important causes. Being a part of the Eta Sigma Delta honor society is, of course, an honor. I wouldn’t be able to be a part of it without the help of the Kendall College Trust scholarship. I am able to focus on my grades and keep them high, and not focus on the burden of tuition. I am so thankful to be a recipient.
