Not-for-Profit Continues Its Mission to Support the Future of Hospitality Through New Partnership in 2024

Foundation For Culinary Arts is thrilled to partner with Aparium Hotel Group to provide its students with necessary cooking tools for its 2024 Yes, Chef! Cooking and Baking Camps. F4CA’s mission is to inspire and empower socially and economically disadvantaged students through educational programming and career advancement opportunities. Through Aparium’s recent holiday donation drive, the hospitality group collected an array of baking tools and Chef’s knives (totaling approx. $4,000) to continue making F4CA’s camp an amazing an impactful experience.

“We are beyond grateful for this generous donation from Aparium,” said Catherine De Orio, Executive Director, F4CA. “As we gear up for an exciting year of programming for students, the equipment donated will help the Foundation provide the proper tools for students participating in our upcoming Yes, Chef! Spring Baking Bootcamp.”

With hospitality at the core of Aparium, the team is committed to supporting young people who are curious about becoming indoctrinated into the culinary craft. As a result, they are excited to be a small part of the opportunities that F4CA provides.

“As a recipient of a scholarship to attend a local Chicago institution, I have directly benefited from the impact of donated time and resources to give individuals an opportunity to fall in love with the restaurant industry,” said Evan Sheridan, Director of Food and Beverage Programming and Administration for Aparium.  “No single person is ever born knowing intuitively how to be an excellent Chef.  That takes commitment, time, mistakes, and mentorship.”

Including one and five-day camps, each Yes, Chef! Culinary Camp is designed to broaden each student’s horizons in culinary, culture and community. Campers spend time bonding with students from other schools while learning valuable career and portable life skills, including lessons on nutrition, sustainability and foodways. Each donation received only enhances these camp experiences.
