How This Scholarship Has Impacted Me

Receiving the Kendall College Trust Scholarship this past quarter has impacted my life in a couple of very important ways. First and foremost, it has allowed me to have the time in order to fully complete my studies at Kendall and finally earn my diploma.

This summer, I have been taking a full-time internship, completing the Capstone Senior Project, and taking a full class schedule of 12 credit hours… I was very busy to say the least! However, the scholarship allowed me not to have to work a side job on top of all that just to be able to pay my bills and have some spending money in my pocket. I do not think I would have been able to handle this work load without receiving it.

Thanks to the KCT, I was able to accomplish everything I set out to do this summer and even earned the Certificate of Excellence in Leadership Award for my Capstone Project.

Finally, the KCT Scholarship has become an incredibly powerful source of validation for me. There were many times in the past few years when both, my family and myself, were not fully convinced that earning my degree at the age of 41 was truly worth the time and effort. This scholarship was a great reinforcement that showed me that I was on the right path and it really gave me the confidence to finish strong. My parents and my entire family were extremely proud of me and could not believe that I was receiving such accolades this late in my life. Thanks to Kendall College and the KCT Scholarship Committee, my future is looking so bright and I am looking forward to an amazing next chapter in life!
