To new beginnings…

My Windy city journey started on September 29^th, 2016. I was a 20 year old girl with hopes and dreams of learning something new, seeing something new and discovering something new every single day. Born and brought up in Mumbai, India, being the only child, I had everything I wanted – parents who supported me in every way possible and friends who wanted the best for me. I came to Kendall to make it big in the food industry and now, after graduating, I feel like I am on my way to success.

I live to eat and love to cook. Being a student of Kendall and receiving this scholarship has opened so many doors for me. Just like Mumbai, Chicago is a ‘food city’ and food is part of the culture. It is the most important pillar of sustenance and life and to be able to be a part of this industry makes me feel grateful every single day. I don’t just want to make food; I want to create food that makes people happy. Food is related to memories and to invoke those through the food that I cook is always the objective.

I am currently on my internship at Spiaggia. I have learnt so much in such a short period of time. I have staged at a few places, dined at some of the finest restaurants in Chicago and my thirst to learn more just keeps increasing. I am always on Instagram looking at more food and posting the food that I make and eat! Receiving the Kendall College Trust Scholarship has just encouraged me more to do all of these things and pursue my passions with no inhibitions or fears.
