Gabriela Garcez Kramer Fall 2017 Blog

My final classes at Kendall are done! I can’t even believe how fast it came! It sounds crazy to me to think that I have been in Chicago for two years now. When I got here I was a 3-month exchange student, I had plans and hopes to stay, but I also knew it wouldn’t be easy. It’s been a long way, but I’m proud of myself for staying put and not giving up through the ups and downs.
I am on the lookout for my Senior internship, and hoping to find something that I will be passionate about doing. This quarter I got to take an Event Marketing and Social Media class, that really took me back to my time in Brazil studying Public Relations. I used to love the communications school, so I was really interested in the content of this class. We got to learn a lot about experiential marketing and brand activation events, and it got me eager to maybe go into that field. That way I can put two things that I enjoy doing together, event planning and PR, and I believe the outcome could be amazing!
It’s a bittersweet feeling to know that I won’t be back in Kendall’s classrooms next quarter; while I’m looking forward to doing some hands-on experience, I do enjoy studying and learning in class. I can’t wait to share with you more about what the future holds for me in the upcoming months, I have no idea in which direction I am headed, but I am excited!
