Jose Garcia Castro Summer 2018 Blog

As my time to Kendall comes to an end, a mixture of feelings comes along with it. Excitement, sadness, anxiety are the main ones that I feel. I am excited to see what my future holds, but nervous and anxious about it. As I transition from the comfort zone of an educational institution to forming part of the culinary workforce I can’t help but wonder how much different it will be.
The past year and a half has been the happiest I’ve been, I became part of the Kendall family, that is integrated by wonderful people, who each individually have in some way, shape or form impacted my life and I will always grateful to them. It’s sad to think that I won’t see all my wonderful instructors walking down the hall or hearing chef Meyer’s voice as I walk into the café for lunch. Most of all, I will miss all of my friends, that have been through all the good and hard times with me in the journey that was Kendall.
For the next three months, I will be part of some exciting and crazy adventures in my new journey, joining the Electrolux Professional team, were I’ll get to grow as a young member of the culinary community, working alongside great chefs, to hopefully one day become one myself.
After my time here, I don’t know yet where I am headed, whether it is to keep studying or working, but if I am sure of one thing, it is that it will be exiting.
