While traveling through the daily path of life, have you ever stumbled upon a hidden treasure of the universe? I found mine at Kendall – an amazing amalgamation of incredible chef professors and an international student body, allowing me to witness the dance from the very epicenter of the Culinary whirlpool. Born in India and raised somewhat globally, I came to Kendall with very high expectations, and I have to say that Kendall surpassed them all! The opportunities are endless, and I have been fortunate to be a part of the KCT team.

The Fried Chicken & Champagne Fest event, organized by the Kendall College Trust was one of the best events that I participated in, in this quarter. The participating restaurants included Monteverde, Honey Butter Fried Chicken, Parachute, and Acadia to name a few. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity of working with Chef Sarah Jayne of Monteverde for the event. Chef Sarah is a James Beard award recipient. Being able to observe her and learn from her has been phenomenal.

Another event that I participated in was the Chaines de Rotisserie dinner at the Art Institute. Helping to prep plates for over 300 guests was overwhelming. It was the first time outside of school when I helped prep for such a huge number of guests. The experience taught me the nuances of service-time and I made some good contacts in the industry. All this has been possible due to the support that I’ve received from the Trust members. Their belief in me and the constant support that all scholarship recipients get from the Executive and Associate Director of KCT is very reassuring. It’s been an amazing journey, all thanks to the board members of KCT.
