Michelle Hannigan Spring 2017 Blog

This term, my teammate Maya and I, had to present a marketing proposal to the owners of Celeste located at 111 W. Hubbard Street. This establishment is located in a Louis Sullivan 1988 historic building that has been turned into a 4 level venue featuring The Pub bar, The Deco restaurant, The Disco night club and The Garden Rooftop.

This assignment was exciting and challenging at the same time, because we were presenting to a real company and not just dreaming up a proposal that only our classmates will hear. Assignments like these are the ones that I find most helpful at Kendall. It really does prepare us students for real world experiences and sets our perspectives in the right direction. Not to mention the fact that senioritis is in the air and hard not to fall into its loving arms, knowing that we would present to a company that may use our ideas, kept the drive alive, at least for me!

We presented A fake your own wedding event that would utilize 3 out of the 4 floors that Celeste had to offer; allowing couples to experience what their wedding would be like and see all that Celeste has to offer as a one stop shopping experience. We also presented the Celeste Edition Mixology Competition that would pair Celeste up with local distilleries and allow locals to compete with Celeste’s bartenders in a Mixology competition. The competition would last a month and have a new winner weekly. That winner would have their drinks up on Celeste’s impressive drink menu for a short period of time.

We were proud that both ideas could be interactive for the participants, pair well with social media for a positive response and ideas that the owners really seemed to like. All in all it’s just another example of how Kendall sets us apart from all the rest!
