Kendall College, to me, is a doorway to many possibilities. One of those doorways was when I received a scholarship. By receiving the scholarship from KCT, I have been able to continue my study and, hopefully, will be able to graduate in the Spring of 2017 with an A.A.S in Culinary Arts. This brings me so much joy, not only because I am getting a degree in a field that I am passionate about and from the school I love, but it will also make me the first person in my family to graduate college. This is a huge event in my life and for my parents as well, it is exciting.

Another opportunity that was available for me was the chance to enroll in the Two plus Two Program. Due to that, I decided to enroll and pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality with a concentration in Beverage Management. The reason I chose Beverage Management is because, to me, this is a great opportunity to learn both aspects of the industry because, in my perspective, culinary and beverage management go hand in hand.

Being able to receive that scholarship has giving me the chance to graduate, but it has also inspired me to continue my education. With both fields, I am eager pursue and grow in each industry and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
