I am excited to share that I am graduating in June of 2017 with a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Management major. I will be technically done with my courses in Winter Quarter. However, I still have my senior internship to complete plus one more online class in Spring Quarter. My plan is to get a full-time job or apply for a corporate management training program, and use the first three months as my senior internship.

I have met many great people at Kendall Fall Career Fair, and I am eager to explore opportunities with their help. There was one question I got asked more than anything. “Are you willing to relocate for a job?” My answer was, “Yes, I am willing to relocate for the RIGHT opportunity.” A company that stood out to me the most was Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. I met Kyle Mooney, Human Resource Manager at the Corporate Office in Washington D.C. We had a great conversation, and it was nice to meet someone from my hometown. With Kyle’s help, I will be meeting one of their Human Resource Managers while I am visiting my family in Washington D.C for the holidays. I am very excited about the meeting because this is an amazing opportunity but I honestly would rather find a job in Chicago because I love the city and have incredible network connections. The hospitality industry is all about who you know. It is very large yet so small. So, we will see how it goes. Sometimes you don’t know what’s going to happen.
