The last two months went by real fast. I recently finished my senior capstone project, which I have been working for the past 6 months since April. I decided to choose the Industry Challenge side which one of the project was called “The renovation of Hotel Indigo on Gold Coast”. I had a chance to work with Hotel Indigo with some other students who are also interested in Hotel Renovation.

We are Spark Consulting & Hospitality (SCH), our group working as a consultant to helps hotel Indigo shave their new business to meet new management desired. For the first three months we did a lot of research about the existing property, trends toward the industry, as well as the feasibility study. Then we started to write up our proposal for a business plan with the new concept that we project to be different and profitable for the new hotel.

From July, we begin with our business plan which we have to work on our new concept for both Front Office and Food & Beverage side as well as Marketing and Financial Projection. We decided to call this new concept, Landmark Chicago Hotel & Suites. The differentiators of The Landmark Chicago Hotel &  Suites are exhibited through an eccentric interior design and personalized  services for a mesmerizing guest experience.

KCT scholarship has helped me to focus on this project and In the end we won Second place for our Capstone Presentation. This is just the end of Capstone project but in life it is only the beginning for my future career toward hospitality industry.
