As a KCT scholarship recipient, there are a few events with which I have the opportunity of volunteering. At Kendall College Trust, there is an annual Fried Chicken & Champagne event where chefs from various restaurants come and make their best recipe of fried chicken. At the event this year, I had the opportunity of helping set up and in areas needed. It was great to help fellow recipients and students out in ways where the event ran smoothly not only for us but also for the guests.

With an event taking up the entire 5th floor of the school, all hands on deck are needed and teamwork is of utmost importance. Many moving pieces were present weeks before and the day of, and it was wonderful to be a part of a team where everybody had the same goal: to work efficiently and gladly serve all guests. Personally, my satisfaction was seeing the guests happy and enjoying their time mingling and eating great food. It is always an honor being able to serve others and working with other hospitable people as well. In the end, the event was a success and will definitely be one to keep in my book of memorable experiences.
