The fall quarter was my last quarter at Kendall. I have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, focusing on food and beverage. During my last quarter, I was doing my internship at The Drake Hotel in Chicago. I was hired there as a restaurant supervisor and used my first three months as my internship. Every day during the internship, I applied what I had learned from Kendall.

The few classes that have really helped me were human resource management, strategic management and accounting. It has made me realize I should have studied a little harder in accounting. Kendall and the staff have taught me the basics about the hospitality industry and have set me up to succeed. It was the career service counsellors that sent my resume to The Drake, knowing I would be a good match. I never would have gotten through school without the scholarships from the Kendall Trust.

I am looking forward to the future where I can continue to grow as a hospitality leader and be an inspiration to Kendall students and future students to purse their dreams with my story of working through the pastry program and the hospitality program. I am also looking forward to supporting the Kendall Trust. This year, I will be able to support and attend the Fried Chicken and Champagne event!
