If I did anything right in my educational career, it was the decision to choose Kendall College as the school to pursue my degree in hospitality management. Through Kendall, I’ve thankfully been provided many opportunities that have helped me grow both professionally and personally.

I was given the opportunity to be a student worker for the marketing department and I am blessed to be able to work with smart, wonderful women (shout out to: Maggie, Erica, Jenna, and Kari)! I was also aided in finding an amazing internship with Chicago Gourmet this past summer, which allowed me to see all the work that goes into the execution of a successful food and wine festival.  It was only supposed to last three months, but because of the generous scholarship from Kendall College Trust I was able to extend it to six months and see the festival all the way through.  It was an unforgettable and memorable experience.

As I reflect back on 2017, I realize that I’ve learned the most about myself when I put myself out there and got out of my comfort zone in school and work related situations. With 2018 being my last year here at Kendall, I am looking forward to making it a year of growth, learning, and focus.
